The Best of Highstreet: H&M

This is a new series i'm starting up on MakeupbyKrishie. It's basically my top ten finds from each high street brand for Spring/Summer. I really feel like the high street has pulled out all the stops this season, are you guys just as impressed as me?

Well here are my best 10 picks from H&M's current collection;

Glamourous racer back, perfect beach dress for £19.99

Part of the Conscious Collection, this is one of my favourites I just love the detail on the neckline and the peplum waist. - £39.99
Great lace skirt that can be incorporated in so many looks, for £24.99 you can really get your wear out of this one!

Subtle paisley printed trouser are perfect, comfortable way to wear the printed trend for anyone not used to wearing prints. - £14.99

This blouse is my absolute favourite piece in this collection, its so fashion forward and wearable with almost anything!
Definitely worth the £19.99

Also from the Conscious Collection, these printed trousers are such a lovely way of bringing some colour into your outfit, paired with a simple white blouse its bang on trend! - £24.99

Structure is another common trend in this season's collection, lots of well structure blazers are available but the shoulder detail on this meant it was my favourite out the lot. -  £29.99

These shorts are a refreshing change from the pastel colours that i've been seeing in most stores, love how it resembles Hawaiian prints without looking too out there - £12.99

I have yet to see kaftans available anywhere on the high street, and for that reason alone I think this one had to be included. Perfect over dresses, shorts, bikini anything really! - £19.99

Last but not least, I was really attracted to the bright green detail on these heels and the ankle strap really keeps in with this season's trend - £29.99

So these are my favourite ten picks from H&M's current collections for Spring/Summer. I have so say I am really impressed in what they have in store, there were quite a few things I was torn between. I think it's safe to say that i'll be going back there when payday comes!

DIY Acne Mask Using Green Tea

Here's an easy, homemade mask to improve acne or discolouration of the skin.

The main ingredients of this mask is Green Tea and Honey. The green tea will has antioxidants that will improve any acne scars and purify the skin. The honey will act as a moisturising agent to leave skin soft as well as brighten your complexion. Its so easy it'll literally take you 5 minutes to make!

Ingredients:

- Handful of Porridge Oats (Brand doesn't have to be the same)
- Half a cup of freshly made Green Tea
- Heaped Tablespoon of Honey

First add about a handful of porridge oats into your bowl, the oats will absorb the moisture from the tea and honey so the mask is easily applicable.

Then add a heaped tablespoon of honey, the purer the honey the better for your skin.

Then add half a cup of freshly made green tea to the mixture and mix. Once you have let the mask set for about 1/2 minutes it should look something like this. I know its not a very pretty sight but apply and leave on for about 10/20 minutes, wash off and repeat once a week.

You will see a difference!!

How did this mask work for you? Know any other easy DIY masks?
Comment below and let me know your thoughts.

Product Review: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

Price: £36

Pros:

- Perfect for spring/summer because its so light on the skin
- Looks incredibly natural in daylight and photographs
- Medium coverage but build able
- Has a dewy finish which i LOVE
- Water-based so is less harsh on the skin (I actually think my skin improves when I use this foundation)

Cons:

- Quite pricey at £36 for 30ml
- Lasting power isn't amazing (but is longer if finishing powder is used on top)
- When applied initially looks a little too light, but after 10/20 mins it sets to the right colour

I think it's safe to say that the Pros definitely outweigh the Cons, I absolutely love this foundation and I know a lot of youtube beauty gurus have raved about this product too. There are a lot of foundations out there now that have adopted the water-based formula, so if you're not so keen on spending a hefty £36 pounds here some alternatives you can try:

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation - £26
Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup - £27
MAC Face and Body Foundation - £25

I strongly recommend that you try a water based foundation for this spring/summer, you will love the results just as much as I do!

Top 5 Concealers For Blemished Skin

The worst part of having a blemishes has to be the scars, those things are a nightmare! Having combination skin myself, i've always got the odd blemish so I have a fair bit of experience with concealers. Here are what in my opinion are the five best concealers for covering up blemished skin.

Maybelline Superstay 24hr Concealer - £6.19
This concealer is creamy in texture, so its quite robust in coverage. This allows it to cover up heavy scarring quite well, although it doesn't last 24hrs exactly the lasting power is amazing and for warm pink skin undertone there are great natural looking shades. At £6.19 its worth a try even if it isn't to your taste!

MAC Pro-Longwear Concealer - £14.50

This concealer comes out the pump very generously, the texture isn't quite as thick as maybelline's superstay concealer, but this makes it more natural looking in my opinion. The range of shades for this concealer makes it perfect for any skin tone and the staying power really is what it says on the tin. I like the finish of this concealer because it doesn't look so made up and in photos it looks flawless.

MAC Select Cover Up Concealer - £14.50

This concealer is very creamy in texture, it also has a dewier finish to most concealers on this list. Although the coverage of this product is not as high as the others it's quite buildable and looks amazing in photos. I really like how healthy my skin looks with this concealer on, and its creamy texture makes its wearable on its own.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer - £7.49

This concealer is great for everyday wear, its natural looking and covers up well. Its light enough to be used under the eye and dense enough to be worn over blemishes and scars. Great for lighter skin tones as the range of shades don't stretch that far. Not as durable as the others but great for natural looks.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19

Notoriously known among the beauty community as the miracle product for its cheap price but amazing result. This concealer does exactly what it says, covering up the worst of the scars and lasts pretty much all day. My only let down would be the range of 4 shades won't suit everyone's skin tone. But if you do manage to find a shade to match you I would definitely recommend giving this one a go!

This season's biggest trends in accessories by far has to be the chunky chains. They make the simplest of outfits bold and add that extra glamour for an elegant evening.

The real question however is what would you pay to keep with this current trend?

STEAL: H&M £12.99

 SPLURGE: Zara £22.99

SOMETHING SPECIAL: Isabel Marant £160

So which one would you go for?
