Hot Right Now - Neutral Goddess.

I am loving the taupe trend at the moment! Celebrities such as Olivia Palermo, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and many more have sported this very neutral chic makeup look from the red carpet to front row at fashion week.I think that this palette of gold, mauves, and brown with lovely natural skin is something anyone can wear. It's simplicity is what draws me to it the most, I can totally see myself wearing this to university as well as for a dinner or something. So I created a mood board type thing using some pictures that really inspired me with this look. It's slightly amateur but gives you guys an idea of where I was going with it!

Rose tones, and colour washed eyes was my favourite aspect of this look, so I used two shadows from the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette; the matte tan brown, and the peach shimmer shade. I wanted my eyes to be the emphasis, so adding liner and mascara really accentuated them without being too dramatic. I softened the eyes by keeping my brows very natural, and adding the same shimmer pink on the tear duct.
It was important for me to keep the skin looking very natural. All the pictures I took inspiration from showed natural sheen to the skin, and there wasn't any obvious contour or blush colours. To do this I stuck to cream products, I used Chanel Soleil de Tan to add some warmth and dimension to my face. Using Smashbox Halo Highlighter in Gold to add the all important glow and spritz some MAC Studio Fix Plus.
With the lips I of course I had to use MAC's Taupe lipstick! I added a Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in Nude Medium to give it some extra life. I am obsessed with this colour, think I've been wearing it every day since I did this look!
All in all, I am pretty convinced that this makeup trend is not going anywhere anytime soon. I suspect more and more celebrities are going to embrace their inner neutral goddess on the red carpet in the upcoming months. What do you guys think about this current craze?

Milkmaid Braids.

Hey guys! I'm sure you can tell there are a lot of changes to my blog recently, it's always a work in progress but I have to say I am really impressed with how its turning out. The weather has been amazing these past few days so I had to take advantage and take a few blog pictures. Who else is loving braids at the moment? Milkmaid braids are a really quirky way to keep your hair up and they really are so easy to do! I've decided to go for a really simple makeup for this look, because I wanted my hair to be the focal point.

As you all know I LOVE bold lips, to make things a bit interesting I mixed flat out fabulous and all fired up which are two M.A.C Retro Matte Lipsticks. It created this beautiful violet pink shade that I didn't think I needed any eye makeup to make the whole look. This a perfect makeup look for a daytime activity I wore it all day and it seemed to stay in place. Also, how stunning is the necklace by Faithlovediamonds!! It was an impulse buy but such a bargain, super cheap and quality is amazing I could compare them to necklaces from Zara. I'll definitely be rocking a few more of these this summer! I really enjoyed putting this look together, if you guys want a tutorial on how to create this Milkmaid Braids post a comment below or click like. See you guys soon!

The Thread Of The Gatsby Era

I love The Great Gatsby, having studied it for my A Level Literature course, I have always been amazed and captivated by the luxury and scandal lives of those living in that era. Following the close release of the new remake The Great Gatsby, I've become enthralled by the wonderfully extravagant nature of fashion of the 1920's. Just like myself, there are many of you out there dying to try out this iconic dapper look that was sported by the likes of Daisy Buchanan herself!

It seems, Needle and Thread an exclusive brand introduced by Asos.com has been bitten by the Gatsby bug more than me. Their styles mirror the era of Gatsby Fashion, and I must say i'm completely smitten! Here are a few of my favourites..

1920's fashion focused on elegance and extravagance, women of that era wanted to look expensive and pure. Needle and Thread have emulated this, through drop waist hemlines, and heavy embroidery. I love how Needle and Thread has kept their designs current and wearable, with split hems and fitted waists. I have to say i'm immensely impressed at how well these designs are, my only setback would be the extremely hefty price tag for the usual shopper. Having said this, the amount of intricate detail and effort put into these wonderful designs really do match the prices quite well.

So for all you ladies out there dying to recreate the lavish styles of Daisy and Myrtle, have a look at the high street, brands like Zara and H&M have also introduced pieces the help you on your way to become your man's very own Daisy Buchanan.

Steal, Splurge or Something Special?

This season's biggest trends in accessories by far has to be the chunky chains. They make the simplest of outfits bold and add that extra glamour for an elegant evening.

The real question however is what would you pay to keep with this current trend?

STEAL: H&M £12.99

 SPLURGE: Zara £22.99

SOMETHING SPECIAL: Isabel Marant £160

So which one would you go for?
