The Kim K Glow.

Hey guys! I just want to start of by apologising for my absence on here the past couple of weeks I've had so many deadlines to meet for university but now it's finally finished I can actually enjoy the summer! So I am a massive fan of Kim Kardashian's makeup, I love how her skin always looks glowing and polished and it's something I like to practice myself particularly on a night out. I have to say this isn't a natural look, I've use more products than what I usually use but it's a great look for a glamorous night out. The picture below is the pic I went by mostly to recreate her makeup, I went by a couple of pictures but this one was the only one I saved. 

Here's how the look turned out..

As you can see, its a super glam makeup look. I used Smashbox BB Cream Eyes concealer to contour and highlight. I just find the consistency of the product is lovely and creamy so it blends beautifully into the skin. 
A few tips I would give to anyone trying to contour and highlight is; - start with cream products and set with powders for a more natural finish - blend highlight colour down and contour colour up, so that they eventually meet  - blend, blend, blend!! -  the more you blend the more natural it will look. 
I also added MAC's Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish on top of the highlight to create an extra glow. Kim uses a lot of neutral colours and the eyes and always have some form of false lashes on. To emulate this, I have added a pair of Katy Perry - Feline Fierce lashes on which I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by! I wore them to work a couple of times and have received so many compliments from customers and my friends. To top it all off I put some nude gloss on the lips because glossy nude lips are a trademark Kim special. This kind of makeup is really up my street and I've really enjoyed creating it. All Bronzed Up.

I'm starting to get a little used to all these makeup poses! If you've ever seen me on a night out you'll know I'm a sucker for bronzed makeup. This is my all time favourite type of look mostly because it can be worn to almost any event. I used two shades of MAC studio finish concealer to create the contoured effect. This is the first time I've used YSL touché eclate and I have to say even though its 25 pounds it's totally worth it. The main focus of this look was keeping the skin natural and contoured. This makeup is good for a night out, dinner date or anything really. I chose to not wear lashes to keep it a bit more natural, but lashes can take it that extra bit further on the glamour spectrum. Also for some reason I wasn't really into using liquid liner this time, but I do think it would compliment this eye makeup really well. I have these moments when I completely go off eyeliner, and then I'm in love with it again haha. Anyways, here's a list of the products I used:

How to Do Pigments the Right Way.

Out of everything, I have to say pigments are one of the hardest things to work with. Not only do they seem to fall out everywhere on your face, but precision is something that seems near to impossible when using them. There's a trick to it though, something I've only recently discovered. Most pigments need some sort of mixing agent/glue to stop the specs of pigment from falling everywhere. The perfect product for this is MAC Studio Fix Plus. Its probably the best 14 pounds I spent. It's the most multi-use makeup product out there. The trick is to take some of the pigment on your eyeshadow brush and spritz the spray on the brush from afar. This will act a glue for the pigments to stick to. Then apply the eyeshadow by packing the colour onto the lid to create an intensified look. You'd be surprised how many different tones of colour get lost in your pigment when you don't use this step. Since discovering this method I've played around with some of my pigments and I came up with this super glamorous look using jewel tones.

My advice when doing your makeup is, if its not broken don't fix it. If you have nice skin, embrace it, use a light foundation that highlights your skin and does not cover it. Those of you who have problematic skin, there will be some areas of your skin that are better than others and try allow your skin to show through in these areas. Remember, if your skin looks natural, no matter how dramatic your makeup is it will never look cakey. Hope that helps you guys!
